Ron DeSantis has been the greatest danger to the LGBTQ Community and has relentlessly stripped their rights away. From the “Don’t Say Gay” fight, to picking fights with Disney just for being an ally, the LGBTQ Community has endured 8 full years of torment, and its time for a Governor who give them 8 full years of respect, visibility and equality. That candidate is Moe Dimanche, a PROUD ally of the LGBTQ Community.

The next Governor of Florida is an ally of the LGBTQ community. As an Orlando native, Moe was appalled at the ongoing efforts of the DeSantis administration to remove the colors from the crosswalk at the site of the Pulse Nightclub attack. In solidarity with the fight for LGBTQ visibility, Moe joined the community in fighting back with chalk as colors were restored to the site of the massacre, although temporarily.
The fight was about more than LGBTQ visibility. It was about never forgetting the legacies of those who lost their lives in what was the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil in American history. That is a federally protected site and is recognized as a National Memorial. That means the Orlando community, and the rest of the nation, has the right to remember.
As Governor, Moe will end the senseless squabbles with the LGBTQ community over the right to be seen, heard, and peaceably assemble. This unnecessary targeting of the LGBTQ community has already impacted others. By taking away the colors at the crosswalk, fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars lost the Paw Prints in front of the stadium. Law enforcement lost their Back the Blue mural. And a high heart attack victim’s family is struggling with ways to keep her memory alive. This is because an attack on the LGBTQ community is an attack on all of us who face attacks on our right to peaceably assemble and be seen. The LGBTQ Community is on the front lines of protecting the 1st Amendment, and Moe is standing right beside them.
During LGBTQ History Month, Moe joined the Community at 2025 Come Out With Pride, and blew up a picture of himself and the local LGBTQ advocates restoring the colors to the crosswalk at Pulse. Moe asked the Community to sign off on the picture, and they did so in epic fashion, the most epic moment of the entire festival.

The DeSantis administration cannot exit office soon enough. The incoming administration has to be allied with the LGBTQ Community in order to ensure that the attacks on their rights come to an end. Other candidates in this race already have histories of attacking the Community before flip-flopping when its convenient. Others are campaigning on it right now. Another oversaw the failed response to Pulse in the first place, at a time when the Community was already expressing concerns for their safety. Moe is the only option, if the future of this great State is one where the LGBTQ Community can live in peace, without the full weight of the government against them.
